Aldridge running day off – Lathalmond still to decide
The Aldridge Transport Museum – formerly Aston Manor — has cancelled its planned running day on 12 July. The Scottish Vintage Bus Museum will take a decision on its summer open days in around a month from now.
“We have held back making a decision about the 12 July running day, but it looks pretty clear that social distancing is with us for a good period yet, and that makes running days really not practical,” says Richard Gray of the Aldridge museum in Walsall. “So for that reason we have decided to cancel the event, though with the rider that if restrictions are lifted to a further extent then we might have a limited open day, though highly unlikely to involve free bus services.”
It advises supporters to visit the museum’s Facebook page to keep up to date with its plans.
With the Scottish government maintaining virtually all of the lockdown restrictions, the SVBM has yet to take a final decision on whether its mid-August open days at Lathalmond will go ahead this year. It says it will make an announcement by the end of June.
“This allows the event organisers the best information available nearer the time,” it says. “Thank you for your understanding.”
