Leask of Lerwick to close in September
One of the longest established operators in Shetland, Leasks of Lerwick, is to close in September, the month after its local authority contracts come to an end.
Managing director Peter Leask, a third generation family member, says it took the decision last Wednesday to wind down the business at the end of the season.
John Leask & Son has been providing public transport in the northern isles since 1919 and has around 30 employees. Peter Leask says he is confident that most staff, especially drivers, will find work with other operators.Back to News
