Stagecoach East Midlands, Hull City Council, TransPennine Express and East Yorkshire Motor Services have joined forces to celebrate the 10th birthday of the Hull Paragon Interchange.
Combining rail and bus station services on a single site, with over 1,400 departures of bus and trains everyday, the transport hub provides a central location for those travelling to and from Hull. The Interchange has also recently been undergoing redevelopment and refurbishment to improve the facilities.
To mark the anniversary, on Saturday 3 February from 10.00 until 15.00, transport operators will offering the chance to experience the past, present and future of travel with a day of interactive activities. This will include prizes, competitions, displays and a prototype bus demonstrating the future of travel on display at Queen Victoria Square. There will even be a chance to board a vintage bus.
Families will be able to catch a free ride to the Interchange on an open-top bus, from Queen Victoria Square, directly to the hub of activity, where they will also be able to have a go at issuing tickets. Visitors will also experience the latest technology with transport mobile apps and Stagecoach’s Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL), which locates buses in real-time and allows passengers to monitor its progress.
There will be opportunities to win prizes for family days out, including Family Tickets to the Escape Rooms Hull, Vue Cinema, Reel Cinema, Funstation, Gravity, Superbowl UK Hull, Dinostar and family meal at The Railway Inn.
Jon Donnelly, commercial manager at Stagecoach East Midlands, says: “The Hull Paragon Interchange has provided a central hub for customers using public transport over the past decade. We have had a great 10 years operating from this site and are delighted to be able to mark this occasion by coming together with Hull City Council and other transport operators to offer a family day of fun.
“Travel is continually evolving and we wanted to take this opportunity to show these changes from the past to present in addition to looking ahead to the future. We hope the residents of Hull young and old will come and enjoy a great day out.”

The anniversary event will help us showcase innovative developments like the EYMS Buses App, which allow you to buy your bus ticket on your mobile phone or track your bus in real time.”
Free open-top buses will be running both ways between Queen Victoria Square and the Hull Paragon Interchange between 10.00 and 15.05 on Saturday 3 February, picking up on Carr Lane.
